Layers of Light is a personal interactive development project made in 2017 during USC CTIN-Interactive Design and Production course with Professor Richard Lemarchand. The duration of the project development session is 10 weeks long including ideation, research, prototyping, usability test and production. This piece of art represent a portion of my skills, i.e. Product Management, Level Design, Engineering with the aid from senior consult instructor and two talented music composers, Brandon Jung & Preston Nowakowski.
"The meaning that I find in your project, that often what we are looking for is close to home, and that it is the journey that opens us to new ways of seeing"
Layers of Light plays with the concept of Depth of Field focus, which allows the audience to switch the focus plane between foreground, middle-ground and background of the scene in order to create different composition of the level layout and to push the story forward. With a metaphorical expression, the story is about a children sets up on their journey looking for the symbol of family affection. Carrying the magical lens, this child has been gifted with the ability to observe their world on new perspectives, this journey will recast their interpretation of the surrounding world.
